Happy Veterans Day!

As I did last year, I am sharing my favorite poem for Veterans Day! Thank you all who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that I may post this here today!

IT IS THE SOLDIER

It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to protest.

It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.

AMEN!

My good friend Keren is giving away a set of bibs and a beautiful nursing cover to two lucky people. She does a wonderful job, and really has an eye for fabrics. See her blog {The Fenton Four} Good Luck!

Brownie Face

Keeley helped me make brownies for the Midwive's Back Sale at work. She thought licking the spoon was the best part! Only problem is that Keeley seems to have an allergy to eggs so she broke out around her mouth :( We had great fun though!!

Lil Pumpkin's

Keeley and her Cousin Chloe went to the Pumpkin Patch together today, it was Keeley's (and mommy's) first time. We had great fun! I love that they are so close in age and can share all these moments! And they so love each other! I can't wait for the many more good times to come!

Moving on to greener pastures!

I finally got my letter of acceptance into Bates Technicl College's LPN program today. It has been a long 3 year wait, along with a "mistake" -as the school puts it. I will start in Feburary and hopefully will graduate by December 2010. That will mean a bright new start for me in 2011!

Not much of an update, but an update non-the-less!

So... I know it has been MONTHS since I updated my blog. I started several, but never had the time to finish them. I am not going to go back and try to remember every little detail of my life, pretty much I am gonna give a quick update on Keeley.

On August 15th Keeley turned 9 months old. She was 20.5 lbs and 29 inches long. That was 90th percentile for height and 75th percentile for weight, a slight slow down. To celebrate we took her and her Cousin Chloe to the Point Defiance Zoo. Chloe turned 1 just one week after (which we were at the church camp out so we missed the party) so the timing worked out to be a birthday gift too! The zoo was such fun!!

Today Keeley turned 10 months, just two more months until she is a year old! Oh my. She crawls like a champ, and is working real hard on standing. She is also trying to say "Stop", guess I'll have to not say that anymore. Yesterday she showed me that she could "brush" her hair, I am so proud!! How many 10 month old's brush their own hair??

A world full of "V"s!

Vitamins. So I went to the Dr's on Friday to get the results of some tests I had done. For those who don't know I have been having extreme fatigue, in which I feel that I will fall asleep at any moment including while I drive. Seems I have a Vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D deficiency can cause muscle pain, low energy and fatigue, mood swings, and several others symptoms and diseases I am not experiencing. Researching it has been really scary for me since some of the diseases associated with it run in my family. So I will be taking a supplement and hopefully I will start feeling better!
Vomitting. Yesterday morning poor lil Keeley woke up vomiting. She would throw up everything she ate and around noon had some diarrhea. Eventually she took a couple ounces here and there along with some Pedialite. She was such a trooper, despite being sick and tired she was playing and talking up a storm. She is doing much better this morning!
